The Strange Connection Between Theia Soul, an Ancient Planet and a Greek Titan

A name can be more than a label.

Sometimes, it can be a clue.

In L. Richard Feldenberg’s forthcoming novel THEIA, the name “Theia” connects three seemingly different ideas: a modern woman, an ancient planet and a figure from Greek mythology. At first, those connections seem coincidental. As the story unfolds, however, they become part of a much larger mystery.

The central character, Theia Soul, is a singer, songwriter and actress who has always felt different from the people around her. Since childhood, she has been able to communicate mentally with beings from Earth’s distant past. These companions include extinct animals and a prehistoric woman named Pretty Flower.

Eventually, Theia learns that she is a Prajna, a gifted being capable of communicating with evolutionary ancestors. She also discovers that her abilities may have a purpose far beyond her own life. The novel establishes that she must learn how her powers work and how they may connect to the survival of life itself.

Then there is the planet Theia.

Within the novel, the ancient planet Theia shared an orbit with Gaia, the young Earth. Their catastrophic collision helped create the Earth-Moon system and produced conditions that later allowed life to begin. Feldenberg uses this planetary origin story as more than scientific background. It becomes part of the symbolic structure surrounding Theia Soul.

The connection grows even stranger when Greek mythology enters the picture.

Theia is also the name of a Titan goddess. In the novel’s opening mythology, Theia is portrayed as a being who values human love above power and prestige. While other gods are drawn to influence and status, Theia sees something uniquely precious in the human experience of love.

That idea quietly echoes through Theia Soul’s life.

She is not simply trying to understand unusual abilities or cosmic mysteries. She is also struggling with deeply human concerns: love, grief, identity, family, belonging and the fear of not being understood.

This is what makes the three-way connection so interesting.

The planet Theia represents destruction and creation. Its collision with Gaia leads to something entirely new.

The Titan Theia represents myth, mystery and a fascination with the value of human love.

Theia Soul stands at the meeting point of those ideas. Her life is shaped by change, loss, connection and the growing realization that she may have a role in protecting the future.

Feldenberg uses these overlapping identities to make the novel feel larger than a traditional science fiction story. The scientific, mythological and emotional elements are constantly reflecting one another.

Is Theia’s name simply a coincidence?

Is it part of her destiny?

Or is the answer more complicated than either?

That uncertainty is part of what gives THEIA its intrigue.

For readers who enjoy speculative fiction that blends mythology with science, evolution, romance, environmental themes and questions about identity and purpose, THEIA offers a mystery that begins with a name and expands toward the fate of life itself.

THEIA by L. Richard Feldenberg is currently in the publishing phase and will be available soon.
